Recap

10-man Aberdeen came out worthy winners thanks to an early Scott McKenna goal to secure a second straight win and four games unbeaten against The Rangers in Glasgow in an eventful encounter at Ibrox.

The win sees Aberdeen move into 6th place in the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen made one change to the side that lost to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup, Connor McLennan coming in for Gary Mackay-Steven who was ruled out with concussion following his head clash at Hampden on Sunday.

Aberdeen got off to a great start thanks to Scott McKenna after he slammed the ball into the roof of Alan McGregor’s net which was closely followed by another chance by Graeme Shinnie who fired a low drive from 22 yards out that McGregor managed to block.

Unfortunately, Steven McLean made a terribly poor decision when Sam Cosgrove was sent off in the 33rd minute for a second yellow for a perceived high footed challenge on Goldson which clearly wasn’t the case.  Cosgrove won the ball and Goldson appeared to kick the bottom of Sam’s foot.

Into the second half and parity was restored when Morelos received a second yellow for catching Shinnie with an arm.

The Dons continued to battle to see out another deserved win at Ibrox.
